Only a short walk from »CHALET RAUFTHUBEL« is the station of the cable car to the Schilthorn. Once on the summit, you can enjoy an incredible 360-degree view - from the peaks of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau all the way over to the Black Forest. Be sure to plan a stop at Birg Station: The Skyline Walk and Thrillwalk take a little courage, but reward you with incredible views.
After a few minutes' walk you reach the station of the funicular railway to Allmendhubel. Mürren's »little local mountain« is a paradise for families with children: The playground or the adventure trail are great places to romp around, and themed trails invite you to explore and discover.
The hike over to Winteregg (approx. 45min) and possibly on to Grütschalp is ideal for families: The restaurant offers traditional Swiss cuisine, a great playground for the little ones and a magnificent view of the peaks of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.
Isenfluh is a small mountain village above Lauterbrunnen and can be reached from Grütschalp station after a 1.5 hour hike. This excursion should definitely be complemented with a ride in the small, red gondola to Sulwald, which offers spectacular views. Sulwald is the starting point for numerous hikes, including to the Lobhorn Hut, for a scooter bike ride back to Isenfluh or for a speedy toboggan ride in winter.
For experienced hikers, a visit to the Rotstockhütte is a must. After a steep ascent over the Bründli or a more leisurely walk over Schiltalp and Wasenegg, it can be reached after about 2.5 - 3 hours. The hike offers a magnificent view of the imposing mountain scenery and leads through colourful alpine meadows with rich flora, accompanied by the whistling of the marmots.
Just before Stechelberg, hidden in the mountain, lie the imposing Trümmelbach Falls. Discover what the thundering melt waters have created over the course of many thousands of years.
The highlight of any stay in the Jungfrau region is definitely a visit to the world-famous Jungfraujoch.
Our tip: Make this excursion a round trip and visit the glacier village of Grindelwald on the way there or back.
The via ferrata leads from Mürren down to Gimmelwald, including spectacular views of the mountains and down into the valley. Finally, the Nepal suspension bridge awaits below the Schilthorn cable car station. Duration of the hike approx. 2.5 to 3 hours, the level of difficulty is suitable for beginners (K3). Inexperienced climbers can take part in a guided tour, climbing equipment can be rented in the village.
For relaxation and recreation, we recommend a visit to the Alpine Sports Centre. Treat yourself to some time out and let yourself be pampered in the Alpine Spa or with a beauty treatment. Sports enthusiasts will find their challenge in the fitness area or in the spacious indoor swimming pool.
